Privacy Policy

Introduction

The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) have been introduced to ensure that any business you deal with treats your personal data with respect and are open and transparent about what they do with it. 

At Gordon Castle Scotland, we are committed to maintaining your trust and confidence. In particular, we want you to know that you can trade with us safely, knowing we will treat your data with respect.

But just to be sure, in this Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure. Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

Our website uses cookies to collect information. This includes information about browsing behaviour of people who access our website. It also includes information about pages viewed and the customer journey around our website.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.gordoncastlescotland.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Yotpo

We work with a third party service to gather genuine reviews about our products and service. Only people who have actually purchased will be asked to leave a review. In order to do this, we will pass your name, email and purchase information to Yotpo. Data is shared on a one time only basis and the company or organisation are not entitled to store your data for further use unless you engage with them. You can see their privacy policy here.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Third Parties

In order to make certain services available to you, we may need to share your personal data with some of our service partners. These include IT, delivery and marketing service providers. This is not an exhaustive list.

Gordon Castle Scotland only allows its service providers to handle your personal data when we have confirmed that they apply appropriate data protection and security controls.

Our sister companies

We will share your email data with our sister companies which include Gordon Estate, Gordon Castle Highland Games to allow us to let you know about other events and offers we think you may find of interest. You can, of course, unsubscribe to any mailings at any time. Gordon Castle Scotland will not share any sensitive information, purchase information or your payment details.

Other third parties:

Aside from our service providers, Gordon Castle Scotland will not disclose your personal data to any third party, except as set out below. We will never sell or rent our customer data to other organisations for marketing purposes.

 We may share your data with:

  • Credit reference agencies where necessary for card payments;
  • Governmental bodies, regulators, law enforcement agencies, courts/tribunals and insurers where we are required to do so.
  • Other trusted retailers (Name & Address only) who’s product and offers we feel may be of interest to you. If data is shared it is done so on a one time only basis and the company or organisation are not entitled to store your data for further use unless you engage with them. If you do not wish us to share this information please tick the appropriate box when ordering or to update this preference at any time go to the ‘my account’ section of our website and follow amend your preferences.

 Ticketing Data

When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) through the TYGonline ticketing system for any of our events, data such as your name, company, job title, address, email, payment details and contact number may be collected by our ticketing partner Tyg Tickets and could be stored in their system. Please be assured that we do not share your details with any other company without your consent.

Live event partners

When you purchase a ticket for one of our live events such as The Highland Games your name, address, company, job title, email and contact number will be stored to allow us to check attendees at the event.

We may also ask for your consent to share specific details like your name, company, job title, company address and email address with our sponsors when you book a ticket. Gordon Castle Scotland will not hold or share sensitive information or your payment details.

Access to your Personal Information

Under GDPR, you have the right to access and amend any of their personal data that we hold about you. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our data protection officer at info@gordoncastlescotland,com.
